TULSA, Okla. – No. 1 seed Tulsa Athletic play host to No. 4 Ozark FC in the Heartland Conference playoff semifinals on Wednesday (July 10) at 5:30 p.m. in the first-ever postseason contest at Veterans Park.
Tulsa Athletic, which won the Heartland Conference regular season title with an unbeaten 7-0-3 record and 24 points, enters the playoffs on a three-match winning streak after a 4-1 victory to close out the regular season at Club Atletico Saint Louis. Adam Habib went for two goals in the win. Joe Garcia and Aaron Ugbah added tallies in the road victory.
For the season, Garcia, Habib and Aboubakr Diallo pace the squad with four goals to tie for fourth in the Heartland Conference. Tulsa scored a conference-high 24 goals.
Ozark FC won their final two contests of the regular season to clinch a spot in the Heartland Conference semifinals as the fourth seed. Ozark finished the regular season with a 3-4-3 record for 12 points to edge FC Wichita by one point for the final playoff spot. This is Ozark FC’s first-ever appearance in the postseason in their three-year history. Jacob Zamarron led the Heartland Conference in goals during the regular season with six in 10 matches.
During the regular season, Tulsa defeated Ozark twice, including a 3-1 win at Veterans Park. The green and yellow are a perfect 6-0 all-time against Ozark FC and 3-0 in Tulsa.
This is the sixth postseason appearance for Tulsa Athletic as they are 5-4-1 all-time in the NPSL playoffs. This is Tulsa’s first home playoff game since July 12, 2017 when the green and yellow defeated Little Rock Rangers 1-0 at LaFortune Stadium.
The winner of Wednesday’s contest will advance to the Heartland Conference championship game on Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
