It’s been a brilliant first season at the helm for gaffer Levi Coleman. His young men have only been defeated once in ten outings and have been in first place wire to wire thus far.

Sunday Young Athletic flexed their muscle on bottom of the table Dallas City FC from the first whistle. It didn’t take long at all for front-man Jack Bratcher to tally his 4th of the season. Fernando Saldana found Bratcher near the penalty spot and his powerful hit gave TA20 the lead in just the 3rd minute. Saldana was at it again as he found lone elder player Aaron Ugbah for the easiest of tap ins. Minutes later Gabe Ontiveros notched his second goal of the season and the route appeared to be on. Aaron Ugbah was the lone first team player in the side and he gave Young Athletic a taste of pure class in the 31st minute. Ugbah took a touch 30 yards from goal and hit an absolute banger in off the post that left the goalkeeper Maciol Hassenteuful absolutely stranded (Note: ball was likely deflected…we’ll give the man his credit though). 4-0. Cruise time. Dallas City showed a glimpse of sheer brilliance in the 39th minute. The game was seemingly out of hand when winger Zac Ladwig fizzed a pinpoint cross perfectly into the path of Jonathon Quiros whose thumping header flew into the top corner leaving keeper Xander Quiroga with zero chance. A goal at any level, a treat to watch, and possibly undid Ugbah’s effort for goal of the match.

Halftime. 4-1.

The second was flat, as the game was essentially done and dusted by the 30th minute. It wasn’t until the insertion of Oliver Korngor that the scoresheet came alive again. Korngor tucked away a one on one in the 70th minute. His second in as many substitute appearances. Korngor added to his total a few minutes later making the final score 6-1.

“It’s been a fantastic year so far, but we still have a cup that we’d like to retain and 90 minutes in Little Rock where we want to go out strong and on a high note” said the always focused Levi Coleman

The Red River conference title is technically not wrapped up. The mathematical scenarios are as follows:

-If Tyler ties or loses any games, Tulsa claims the title
-If Tulsa wins or ties vs. Arkansas Wolves, Tulsa claims the title
-If Tyler wins out and Tulsa loses, it goes to goal difference (which has Tulsa ahead of Tyler by 11 goals)

The scenarios massively favor Tulsa. Anything is possible in this funny game though.
