OKLAHOMA CITY – Tulsa Athletic starts a two-match road trip at OKC 1889 FC on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City. A live video stream will be available for the match on Eleven Sports. 

The green and yellow are coming off a 4-0 win on Sunday against Arkansas Wolves at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. Abou Diallo tallied two goals for a brace in the 4-0 win against Wolves on Sunday. Damani Harris and Reed Berry each added goals in the dominating win. 

Diallo and Berry each have tallied two goals for the green and yellow early this season. Harris, Gustavo Vargas, Romulo Bosqueiro, Juan Moreno, Aaron Ugbah and Ruben Torres have scored goals in the green and yellow this season.  

Tulsa currently sits in first place with 10 points and a 3-0-1 record in the Heartland Conference. OKC 1889 ranks second in the league with seven points and a 2-0-1 record. 

In their most recent contest, OKC 1889 traveled to Kansas City and played to a 0-0 draw at Sunflower State FC. OKC opened the 2022 season with wins over Club Atletico Saint Louis and Reign FK. Teejay Chiororo leads the team in scoring with two goals early in the 2022 campaign.

This is the fourth all-time meeting between the two clubs in NPSL competition with the record at 1-1-1 in the three previous meetings. In the most recent meeting between the two sides in the Heartland Conference Semifinals, Tulsa Athletic advanced to the Heartland Conference Championship on PKs after a 2-2 draw during regulation and overtime. Jamie Gilbert tallied a very late equalizer in stoppage time to send the match into overtime. During the regular season, Tulsa won 2-0 at OKC 1889 with Diallo and Whitney Gonsalves scoring goals, and OKC took the victory, 3-1, in Tulsa at Veterans Park. 

Tulsa Athletic travels to Club Atletico Saint Louis on Sunday for a 6 p.m. contest in St. Louis. A live stream will be available for the contest. 

The green and yellow’s next home match is Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. under the lights at Hicks Park in the first Saturday night home match since the 2017 season.
