TULSA – Tulsa Athletic is back in action for the first time in 11 days as the green and yellow hosts Demize NPSL on Wednesday (June 22) at 7 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. Tickets are $10 and a live stream will be available. 

Halftime entertainment will be provided by the Frisbee Dog Team from Sit Means Sit Dog Training. After the conclusion of their performance, fans ages 10 and under will have the chance to try to score a goal on the Frisbee Dog Team. 

Tulsa Athletic looks to bounce back after a 2-1 loss at Arkansas Wolves in their last contest on June 11 in Benton, Arkansas. Wolves tallied a late goal on a free kick to win. Fernando Saldana scored the goal for Tulsa in the 70th minute. 

In the Heartland Conference standings, Tulsa Athletic holds a one-point edge on OKC 1889 FC as the green and yellow is 5-1-2 with 17 points. OKC 1889 has 16 points and a 5-1-1 record. Sunflower State is right behind with 15 points and a 4-2-3 mark. 

Tulsa Athletic is led by Reed Berry with five goals this season. Abou Diallo has four goals for second on the team. Goalkeepers Bryson Reed and Brady Moody have combined for three shutouts and a 0.75 goals against average. 

Demize NPSL, the 2021 Heartland Conference regular season champion, currently holds a 3-2-3 record in 2022 with 12 points to rank fourth in the league standings. On the road this season Demize holds a 1-2-0 record. The Demize offense is paced by Jamie O’Brien with four goals this season. 

Tulsa and Demize met earlier this season in Springfield with the match ending in a 1-1 draw after a late goal from each side. In the 2021 season, the two sides played to two draws during the regular season, however, Tulsa Athletic won 2-1 in the Heartland Conference Championship Finals. The two teams also met in the 2019 Heartland Conference Finals with Tulsa earning the victory.
