Tulsa Athletic will travel to Chicago House AC on Sunday, Dec. 8 with the winner of the contest earning a spot in the 2025 US Open Cup set for the spring.
The green and yellow will play at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 against Chicago House at Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago.
Tulsa Athletic won twice in qualifying to advance to the winner-take-all Midwest Region Final. After a first round bye, Tulsa Athletic defeated FC Bartlesville Buffaloes, 4-0, in the second round of qualifying and won 8-0 over Woodland FC in the third round to advance to play Chicago House.
Chicago House needed three wins to advance to this fourth round contest. Chicago House started with a 3-2 win over Edgewater Castle FC in the first round. In the second round, Chicago House defeated Chicago Strikers, 2-0. And Chicago House earned a spot in the winner-take-all game after a dramatic late goal gave them a 2-1 win at Wisloka Chicago.
Both Tulsa Athletic and Chicago House made magical runs in the 2023 US Open Cup with wins over professional sides, and the clubs were the only two amateur sides to advance to the third round. Tulsa Athletic defeated professional side FC Tulsa, 1-0, in the second round to play MLS side Sporting Kansas City in the third round. Chicago House also won over a professional side with a 3-2 victory over Forward Madison FC in the second round to set up a third round contest at MLS side Chicago Fire.
Chicago House currently plays in the Midwest Premier League (MWPL) after starting as a professional side in 2021 in the National Independent Soccer League (NISA) before joining the MWPL in 2022.
