Lee’s Summit, Mo. – Tulsa Athletic earned a 3-1 win over Union KC on Sunday (July 5) to clinch a spot in The League for Clubs postseason.

Tulsa Athletic ended the 2026 season with four straight wins to move into second place in the Mid-American Conference standings and earn a spot in the Mid-American Conference Championship next weekend at regular-season champion Evolution SC.

The green and yellow tallied their first goal just before halftime when Joel Quashie put the visitors ahead 1-0 in the 43rd minute, scoring off a corner kick.

Tulsa Athletic took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The second half started quickly for the green and yellow as the visitors scored in the 46th minute on another goal off a corner kick to extend the lead to 2-0.

A foul in the box in the 57th minute gave Tulsa Athletic a penalty kick. Carson Banham stepped up to the spot and converted the penalty for a 3-0 lead.

Union KC scored in the 69th minute to make it 3-1.

Bryson Reed started in goal and played the full 90 minutes. He kept Union KC scoreless with several key saves over the first 69 minutes before allowing the lone goal.

With the win, Tulsa Athletic finished the regular season with a 5-4-1 record and 16 points to secure second place in the conference. The green and yellow defeated Emporia FC, Evolution SC and Union KC twice during their four-match winning streak to close the regular season.

Tulsa Athletic travels to Evolution SC next weekend for the Mid-American Conference Championship to begin postseason play. The winner of the conference championship will advance to the Central Region Championship.
