TULSA, Okla. – Adam Habib will return for his second season with Tulsa Athletic as he became the seventh signing for the 2019 season.
“Adam is the type of player with his quick feet and never give up attitude that gives defenders nightmares on the pitch,” Daniel DeVore, GM of Tulsa Athletic said. “Adam is a ball of energy when he comes in and puts the defense on their back foot. He was valuable last season when he scored a hustle goal in a win over St. Louis, while also drawing some PKs and applying pressure during the season.”
In his first season in the green and yellow in 2018, Habib played in six contests, logging 163 minutes. He scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute in a 2-1 victory over Saint Louis Club Atletico, his only goal of the season.
Habib completed his sophomore season at NCAA Division I University of Tulsa in the fall. The forward scored the game-winning golden goal in double overtime to lift the Golden Hurricane to a 2-1 win over New Mexico. The goal was the only shot for Habib all season. In his sophomore campaign, Habib played in five matches and totaled 65 minutes as a forward.
During his freshman season, Habib played in three contests and attempted four shots.
A Broken Arrow, Okla. native, Habib prepped at Bishop Kelley High School where he was a two-year letterwinner. He led Bishop Kelley to 45 wins between his sophomore and junior seasons. Habib registered 18 goals and 14 assists for 50 points in his prep career as he earned all-metro and all-district honors. Habib garnered All-VYPE accolades as a junior.
Habib played club soccer for Tulsa Blitz United and helped the team claim the 2016 United Fall Invitational Championship, 2013 and 2015 Oklahoma State Cup Championships, 2012 and 2014 Labor Day Plano Championships and the 2012 and 2014 Emerald Cup Championships. He tallied 23 goals and 14 assists in three seasons with the Blitz.
