Carrasco Scores Equalizer for 1-1 Draw at Demize

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Ruben Carrasco scored late in the second half to give Tulsa Athletic a 1-1 draw at Demize NPSL on Saturday (June 3) night at Cooper Stadium in NPSL Heartland Conference action. 

With the result, Tulsa moves to 3-2-1 on the season with 11 points in the Heartland Conference standings. Demize goes to 1-2-1 with five points. 

The draw is the fourth straight between Tulsa and Demize NPSL when Demize hosts during the regular season.  

Carrasco tallied his first goal of the season in the green and yellow in the 79th minute to even the score at 1-1. 

Tulsa Athletic had a late chance to take the lead in the 90th minute, but the shot by the green and yellow just barely got pushed away by the Demize goalkeeper. 

Demize took an early 1-0 advantage with a goal in the 29th minute. 

Bryson Reed kept the score 1-0 in the 32nd minute with a save after Demize seemed to gain some momentum in the match. Ten minutes later, Demize hit a shot off the post in the 42nd minute. 

The green and yellow made Demize come up with a save in the 52nd minute as the second half saw the visitors control possession early. Mikey Mallon, Abou Diallo, Juan Moreno, Vini Oliveira all had second half shots that were just off target. 

Tulsa Athletic returns home for three straight matches. The home stand starts with a key matchup against OKC 1889 FC on Saturday, June 17 in green country. A live video stream will be available.
