TULSA – Abou Diallo totaled three goals for a hat trick as Tulsa Athletic rolled to a 7-1 victory over Union KC on Saturday (June 27) night at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. 

With the win, Tulsa Athletic moved into second place in the conference standings with 13 points and a 4-4-1 record. Union KC dropped back to third place with 10 points. 

Diallo tallied two early goals to put the green and yellow up 2-0 in the first 22 minutes of action. Diallo scored his first goal in the 11th minute to put Tulsa Athletic up 1-0. The lead doubled to 2-0 on Diallo’s second goal in the 22nd minute.

Rafa Zaldivar increased the score to 3-0 in the 35th minute when his free kick from 30 yards went right over the top of the goalkeeper to keep the momentum going for the green and yellow. 

Tulsa Athletic was up 3-0 at halftime after the first 45 minutes. 

Diallo earned the hat trick in the 52nd minute when Zaldivar slotted in a pass that Diallo knocked in for a 4-0 advantage early in the second half. 

Union KC scored their goal in the 55th minute for a 4-1 score. 

Carson Banham responded a minute later with a goal in the 56th minute with the assist going to Aidan Hale to put Tulsa up 5-1. 

Banham added his second goal of the match in the 83rd minute to up the score to 6-1. 

Hale got in on the scoring with a goal from the right side of the box in the 90th minute to make it 7-1 late. Banham had the assist on the final tally. 

Luke McGuire started in goal, going the full 90 minutes and allowing only the one goal. 

Tulsa Athletic looks to clinch a spot in the postseason in its final regular-season game on July 5 at 7 p.m. at Union KC in Kansas City. A live stream will be available for the contest.
