Jordan Schmoker Set to Rejoin Tulsa Athletic for 2019 Season

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Athletic added Jordan Schmoker for the 2019 season as he became the 19th announced signing for the club for the upcoming campaign.

 

“Jordan brings loads of experience with the club, and we are excited to have him back for the 2019 season,” Daniel DeVore, GM of Tulsa Athletic, said. “Jordan has had some successful seasons with us in the past, plus he won some big games in college at Northeastern State, where he was an All-American, and at Coastal Carolina. Another local product, Jordan understands the local soccer community and what it means to wear the green and yellow.”

 

Schmoker appeared for Tulsa Athletic last season, playing in three contests late in the 2018 campaign. The midfielder made one start and totaled 172 minutes.

 

In the 2016 season, Schmoker appeared in all 14 matches with 10 starts in the midfield, helping Tulsa Athletic win the South Central Conference title. He registered three goals, including one game-winning tally, during the 2016 season.

 

Schmoker played collegiately at Northeastern State for his final three seasons after starting his college career at Coastal Carolina. Schmoker was a two-time All-American at NSU along with being the Central Region Player of the Year. He was a two-time all-region selection, three-time all-conference pick by the MIAA and two-time MIAA Player of the Week honoree in his collegiate career. As a senior, Schmoker led the RiverHawks to an MIAA championship and to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. The midfielder paced NSU with 11 goals, including three game winners, and 13 assists for 35 points as he was named a first team All-American as a senior. He started in 20 contests and played 1,569 minutes.

 

In his junior campaign, Schmoker led the entire nation in assists per game (0.87) and was third in the NCAA in total assists with 13. He finished with four goals and 13 assists for 21 points to rank second on the team. Schmoker was named a Daktronics All-American and All-Central Region First team. For the year, he appeared in 15 matches with 14 starts.

 

As a sophomore in his first season at NSU, the midfielder played in all 21 matches with 19 starts. He was named all-conference by the MIAA after totaling 10 assists, ranking 11th in the nation. Schmoker played 1,495 minutes during his sophomore campaign.

 

In his one season at Coastal Carolina, Schmoker played in 13 matches with three starts for the NCAA Division I program. He scored one goal and recorded one assist for three points during his first collegiate season. Schmoker helped CCU win the Big South Conference regular season championship with a 9-0 record in league play. Coastal Carolina advanced to the NCAA Division I second round.

 

Schmoker prepped at Catoosa High School where he was a four-year letterwinner. He scored 22 goals and had 38 assists in his first three years with the Indians, and he was named all-district twice and the CHS team MVP as a junior.

 

Tulsa Athletic open the 2019 season on May 5 when they play host to the Little Rock Rangers at home at Veterans Park. Start time is set for 2 p.m. with single game tickets available for as low as $5 for general admission.
