TULSA – Thiago Patto’s goal in the 80th minute lifted Tulsa Athletic to a 2-1 win over Oklahoma City 1889 FC on Wednesday (June 12) at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park in the second summer friendly for the green and yellow.

With the win, Tulsa Athletic moved to 2-0 during their summer schedule of friendlies.

Patto scored the game winner after a takeaway in the midfield went to Luis Flores, and he played a through ball to Patto for the goal and the 2-1 edge late in the contest. Flores picked up the assist on the goal.

Tulsa Athletic wasted little time to start the game with Aaron Ugbah putting the home side up 1-0 in the third minute of action. Rio Mello went around two defenders and his shot from the wing hit the post, and Ugbah knocked in the rebound to give Tulsa the early lead. Mello earned the assist on the goal.

OKC scored in the 31st minute to tie the score at 1-1. The game remained tied at 1-1 until the late goal from Patto.

Bryson Reed started in goal and went the full 90 minutes, allowing only one goal. He made a huge save early in the contest on a shot from OKC’s Abou Diallo.

Tulsa Athletic ends its three-game home stretch with FC Dallas U23 on Saturday (June 15) at 6 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. Tickets are available online.
