ST. LOUIS – Tulsa Athletic look to end the regular season unbeaten when the green and yellow travel to Club Atletico Saint Louis on Saturday (July 6) for the regular season finale at 7 p.m. at Saint Louis University High School.
Tulsa currently holds a 6-0-3 record this season for a nine-match unbeaten streak. The club has won four of their last five contests, including two straight 3-0 victories. With 21 points in their nine matches, Tulsa Athletic leads the Heartland Conference by eight points and won the Heartland Conference regular season title.
In the regular season home finale on Sunday, Tulsa defeated Demize NPSL, 3-0, at Veterans Park. Adam Habib tallied the game winner early in the first half with Junior Kazeem and all-time leading scorer Levi Coleman adding second half goals. Coleman has now scored in every season in club history.
Aboubakr Diallo continues to pace the club with four goals this season. He ranks fourth in the conference in goals. Joe Garcia adds three goals as Tulsa Athletic leads the Heartland in goals with 20 in nine matches. Tulsa Athletic’s defense has posted three shutouts this season and hasn’t allowed a goal in more than 200 minutes. The club’s goals against average of 0.78 is the best in the conference.
Although Club Atletico currently ranks sixth in the league table with eight points, the club still has a chance to make the conference playoffs with a victory. In their last contest, CASTL fell, 7-0, at Ozark FC on June 29. However, Club Atletico Saint Louis won, 3-1, on June 26 in their last home match. The team is 2-1-1 at home this season with their lone loss to second place team Little Rock Rangers. Club Atletico Saint Louis has a 2-5-2 overall record in NPSL action this season. Their offense is led by Adama Kante and Eric Lopez, both of whom have scored three goals this season.
Tulsa Athletic defeated CASTL, 3-1, in the first matchup this season at Case Soccer Complex in Tulsa. Diallo, Adam Habib and Billy Nzojyibwami posted goals in the first meeting. After dropping the first NPSL meeting in the all-time series, Tulsa has won two straight to lead the series, 2-1. However, CASTL is 1-0 in St. Louis.
