TULSA – Tulsa Athletic came away with a 2-0 win over Arkansas Wolves on Sunday (Nov. 17) at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park to capture the OK – AR Conference title and earn the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs. UPSL playoff action starts next weekend with the green and yellow playing host to Little Rock Rangers Academy.
Tulsa (9-1-0) ran its UPSL winning streak to eight games and the club has won 10 straight games across all competition. Arkansas Wolves dropped to 8-2-0 on the season, and they will be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
Abou Diallo scored a first-half goal, and Aaron Ugbah tallied an early second-half goal for the 2-0 score.
Diallo put the home side up 1-0 in the 25th minute when he knocked in a goal off a pass from Ugbah, who earned the assist. The green and yellow held the 1-0 lead at halftime.
Early in the second half, Ugbah doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute with his goal.
Bryson Reed earned the shutout win in goal, going the full 90 minutes. Reed made a spectacular save on a penalty in the 80th minute to preserve the shutout. The shutout was the sixth of the UPSL season in only 10 games.
Tulsa Athletic hosts Little Rock Rangers Academy next weekend at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park in UPSL playoff action. Exact date and time will be announced soon.
