Tulsa Athletic Cruise to 7-0 Win & Move Back into 1st Place in the Conference – Tulsa Athletic

TULSA – Tulsa Athletic cruised to a 7-0 win over Union KC, moving back into first place in the Mid-American Conference on Saturday (June 28) at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. 

KB Harris finished with a hat trick with three goals, and David Palade totaled two goals for a brace in the dominating victory. 

Levi Coleman and Joe Garcia were inducted into the Tulsa Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime, joining Dave Leung in the three-member Hall of Fame. Coleman and Garcia are the top two goal scorers in the history of the club. 

Tulsa Athletic moved to 5-1-3 on the season with 16 points to move back into first in the league with only one game left. OKC 1889 FC ranks second with 15 points, and FC Wichita is third with 14 points with only one game remaining for both. Union KC sits at six points after nine games. 

The home side scored early with David Palade tallying a goal in the third minute for a 1-0 edge for the green and yellow. 

KB Harris totaled two goals in three minutes to increase the edge to 3-0 in the first half. Harris scored his first goal in the 30th minute and added his second in the 32nd minute for a 3-0 edge in the first half. 

Palade added his second goal in the 45th minute for a 4-0 advantage at halftime. 

Tulsa Athletic added three more goals in the second half. Hagen Waesch scored in the 55th minute for a 5-0 margin early in the second half. 

Harris tallied his third goal for the hat trick to make it 6-0 midway through the second half. 

Jonathan Morgan scored the final goal for the greenland yellow in the 87th minute for the 7-0 lead. 

Bryson Reed started in goal and earned the shutout victory, his third shutout of the season. 

Tulsa Athletic ends the regular season on Wednesday (July 2) against FC Wichita. The green and yellow need at least a draw to clinch a spot in the playoffs. Wth a win on Wednesday, Tulsa Athletic wins the Mid-American Conference regular season championship and hosts the first round of the playoffs.
