TULSA – Tulsa Athletic dominated possession and totaled four goals to cruise to a 4-0 victory over Arkansas Comets on Saturday (Sept. 21) at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park.
The green and yellow moved to 3-0 at Hicks Park in the UPSL fall season. Tulsa is 3-1-0 overall so far during the 2024 UPSL campaign.
KB Harris finished with a brace with two goals, Abou Diallo and Ruben Carrasco each added goals in the dominating win.
Diallo opened the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute of action from a very close angle to put the home side up 1-0.
Only three minutes later, a handball in the box gave Tulsa Athletic a penalty in the 17th minute. Goalkeeper and captain Bryson Reed took the penalty, but he hit the post to keep the score 1-0.
Later in the half, Gustavo Vargas hit the crossbar on a header off a corner kick in the 42nd minute of action.
Harris got in on the scoring right before halftime with an incredible goal in the 44th minute to make it 2-0.
Carrasco upped the advantage to 3-0 in the 70th minute with his strike from his left foot to the left corner of the goal.
Harris added his second goal late in the contest in the 86th minute for the final 4-0 margin.
Tulsa Athletic controlled possession throughout the contest and prevented the Comets from any dangerous opportunities on goal.
Reed went the full 90 minutes in goal, earning the shutout win, his second straight shutout this season.
Tulsa Athletic goes on the road for their next three UPSL contests. The stretch starts at NWA Pro U20 on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Springdale, Arkansas.
