OKLAHOMA CITY – Tulsa Athletic scored two second-half goals to earn a 2-1 victory, their first in The League for Club action, at Oklahoma City 1889 FC on Saturday (May 31) at Brian Harvey Field.

The green and yellow moved to 1-2-0 on the season with three points in the Mid-American Conference. OKC fell to 2-1-0 with six points in conference play.

Luis Flores scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute to give Tulsa Athletic the 2-1 lead. A cross found Flores, but his header went off the crossbar. Tulsa got another shot, but hit the post. However, Flores was there to clean up and knock in the goal.

David Palade evened the score at 1-1 on a goal in the 50th minute. His club leading third goal of the season was a shot to the near post that snuck by the goalkeeper to tie the contest.

Host OKC started strong with a goal in the fifth minute of action to gain a 1-0 advantage.

Captain Bryson Reed started in goal for Tulsa and earned the win, only allowing the one goal in 90 minutes.

With the win, the two clubs each have one win in the series this season. The two clubs play two more times again this season, once more in Tulsa and once more in Oklahoma City.
