FRISCO, Texas – Tulsa Athletic fell, 3-2, in double overtime to Met Oval Academy in The League for Clubs Semifinals on Thursday (July 24) at Toyota Soccer Center.
Met Oval Academy scored in the 119th minute in double overtime to take the 3-2 lead to earn the win and advance to The League for Clubs Finals.
After falling behind 1-0 midway through the second half, Abou Diallo evened the score at 1-1 in the 84th minute to end the semifinal game into overtime.
The first 15 minutes of overtime remained scoreless. In the second overtime, Met Oval went up 2-1 on a goal in the 111th minute.
Tulsa Athletic continued to battle back and tied the score at 2-2 in the 114th minute. The green and yellow tallied the goal off a free kick with Ciaran Winters scoring the goal.
Met Oval scored minutes later right before the end of overtime to earn the 3-2 victory.
Tulsa Athletic ends the 2025 season in the semifinals. The green and yellow won the Mid-American Conference regular season, Mid-American Conference Championship and the Central Region Championship.
Tulsa Athletic will be back in action in the fall with qualifying for the 2026 US Open Cup.
