
Lee’s Summit, Mo. – Tulsa Athletic end their two-game road trip at Union Kansas City on Sunday (June 8) at 7 p.m. at Paragon Star Sports Complex Stadium.
The green and yellow started the road trip with a 2-1 comeback win at OKC 1889 FC last Saturday (May 31) at Brian Harvey Field in Oklahoma City. After going behind 1-0 early, Tulsa Athletic rallied for the victory. David Palade tied the score at 1-1 early in the second half with his club-high third goal of the season. Luis Flores scored the game-winning goal later in the second half after his header hit the crossbar and a follow up attempt hit the post before the final shot found the back of the net.
For the season, Tulsa Athletic has three points with a 1-2-0 record in Mid-American Conference play. Palade leads the club with three goals with one goal in each game. Flores and Gustavo Vargas each have one goal for the green and yellow.
Union Kansas City is currently 0-2-0 in Mid-American Conference action in their first season. They opened the season with a 3-1 loss at OKC 1889 FC and followed with another 3-1 defeat at FC Wichita. Keegan Ranney and Beck Rettenmaier each have goals for Union KC.
This is the first-ever meeting between Tulsa Athletic and Union KC. And it’s the 2025 home opener for Union KC.
After the contest, Tulsa Athletic returns home for two games next week at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. The stretch starts on Wednesday when the green and yellow play host to OKC 1889 FC at 7:30 p.m. Tulsa Athletic welcomes FC Wichita to Hicks Park on Saturday (June 14) at 7:30 p.m. A live video stream will be available for both contests.
