Tulsa Athletic Hosts Conference Championship on Saturday – Tulsa Athletic

TULSA – Tulsa Athletic plays host to OKC 1889 FC on Saturday (July 12) in the Mid-American Conference Championship game set for 7:30 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. 

Tickets for Saturday’s game are available online, and a live video stream will be available on Youtube. 

The green and yellow host the conference championship after finishing first in the Mid-American Conference standings after the 10-game season. Tulsa Athletic totaled 19 points with a 6-1-3 record. OKC 1889 placed second in the conference with 15 points and a 5-0-5 record. 

Tulsa Athletic is currently on a two-game winning streak and a four-game winning streak at Hicks Park. To end the regular season, the green and yellow won 7-0 over Union KC and 2-0 over FC Wichita to clinch the top spot in the conference table. 

David Palade leads the club with seven goals this season, ranking first in the Mid-American Conference. Luis Flores adds four goals, and KB Harris has three goals. Bryson Reed has four shutout wins in goal in 10 games this season. 

Saturday is the fourth meeting between the two clubs in conference playoffs, including three times in the conference finals. Tulsa Athletic has a 3-0 record in the playoffs against OKC 1889 FC. 

Saturday’s contest is the fifth meeting between Tulsa and OKC this season with the series split at 2-2. OKC started the season with a late rally to win 2-1 at Hicks Park in the season opener for both teams. Tulsa won the next two games, including a 2-0 victory at Hicks Park. In the last meeting between the two clubs, OKC won 2-0 in Oklahoma City. 

The winner of Saturday’s game plays the winner of the Mountain Premier Conference on July 19. The League for Club National Semifinals and Finals are set for July 25 and 27 in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
