TULSA – Tulsa Athletic hosts Denton Diablos in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Round 2 on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park.
Tulsa Athletic advanced to the second round after a dominating win over FC Bartlesville Buffaloes in the first round of qualifying at Athletic Community Field. The green and yellow tallied six goals en route to the 6-0 win.
The contest is a rematch of the 2021 NPSL National Championship in Denton, Texas where Denton Diablos won to take the national championship. Tulsa Athletic won the national championship two years later in 2023 in Claremore. Both clubs in the contest feature a star above their crest.
Denton is now a member of USL League Two.
The winner of Saturday’s contest advances to the third round. It takes four wins to earn a spot in the proper field for the 2026 U.S. Open Cup field.
