TULSA – Tulsa Athletic opens up their 2024 summer friendly schedule with a rematch of the 2021 NPSL National Championship as Denton Diablos FC travels to Hicks Park for a 4 p.m. contest on Sunday (June 9) at 4 p.m. at Athletic Community Field.
The game matches up two of the last three NPSL National Champions as Tulsa Athletic won the league crown in 2023 and Denton won the championship in 2021. In the 2021 championship in Denton, the Diablos defeated Tulsa Athletic. The green and yellow won the 2023 championship on penalties over Apotheos FC in Claremore.
Denton Diablos currently leads the Lone Star Conference in the NPSL with a 3-0-1 record.
After being suspended by the NPSL, Tulsa Athletic has put together a six-game summer friendly schedule with five games at Hicks Park. Sunday’s game kicks off the 2024 schedule.
Tulsa Athletic welcomes in-state rival OKC 1889 FC to Hicks Park on Wednesday, June 12 at 6 p.m. And the home stretch continues with FC Dallas U23 on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Hicks Park.
The green and yellow go on the road for the first time on June 19 at OKC 1889 FC at 7 p.m. at Oklahoma City University’s Brian Harvey Field.
The 2024 friendly schedule concludes with two home games on the final two Saturdays of June. First Tulsa Athletic hosts former Heartland Conference rival Little Rock Rangers on June 22 at 6 p.m. at Hicks Park. The season concludes with a cup championship against another former conference rival in Houston Regals on June 29 at 6 p.m. at Hicks Park.
