SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Tulsa Athletic continue their three-match road trip as they travel to Demize NPSL on Saturday (June 15) at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Country Soccer Cooper Stadium. The contest is the second road match during the stretch of three straight on the road for Tulsa Athletic.
Tulsa Athletic continue to lead the Heartland Conference as the green and yellow are unbeaten in the 2019 season at 4-0-2 through six contests for 14 points in the standings, a five-point edge on second place Little Rock. To open the three-match road trip, Tulsa Athletic defeated 2018 Heartland Conference champion Little Rock Rangers, 2-1, last Saturday. Gustavo Vargas and Alex Harris scored the first two goals of the match as Tulsa Athletic built a 2-0 advantage before a late Little Rock goal. Tulsa Athletic is currently on a two-match winning streak after defeating Club Atletico Saint Louis, 3-1, on June 2 in Tulsa.
For the season, Aboubakr Diallo paces the club in scoring with four goals, ranking second in the Heartland Conference. Harris places second on the team this season in goal with two tallies. Vargas, Joe Ruiz, Junior Kazeem, Joe Garcia, Santiago Riveros, Adam Habib and Billy Nzojyibwami each add goals this season as Tulsa Athletic leads the conference in goals per game at 2.2 this season.
Demize NPSL ranks third in the Heartland Conference with a 2-1-2 record for eight points. In their most recent match, Demize NPSL defeated Club Atletico Saint Louis, 1-0, on Tuesday in Springfield. In their other victory this season, Demize NPSL defeated FC Wichita, 2-1, in Springfield. Gustavo Nascimento leads the club with two goals this season. Demize NPSL is the top defense in the conference this season with only five goals allowed in five contests.
Tulsa Athletic holds a 7-1-1 advantage and is currently on a three-match winning streak in the all-time series between the two clubs dating back to the 2014 season. Tulsa Athletic is 3-1-1 in road contests against Demize NPSL.
