FRISCO, Texas – Tulsa Athletic will take on Met Oval Academy in The League for Clubs National Semifinals set for Thursday (July 24) at 6 p.m. at Toyota Soccer Center.
In the other national semifinals, Napa Valley 1839 FC plays FC Dallas U23 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Toyota Soccer Center.
The winners of the two semifinals meet in The League for Clubs Finals set for Saturday (July 26) at 4 p.m. at Toyota Soccer Center.
Tulsa Athletic advanced to the semifinals with a 4-1 win over Peak XI FC in the Central Region Championship on Saturday at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. The green and yellow scored three first-half goals en route to the dominating victory. Erick Diaz opened the scoring with an early goal. Joe Ruiz doubled the edge to 2-0 with his goal. Ruben Torres made it 3-0 with a goal on a free kick, and Rafa Zaldivar upped the margin to 4-0. The visitors scored a goal late, but Tulsa Athletic went on to win 4-1.
The regional championship was the fourth regional title for the green and yellow in their history. Tulsa Athletic won three regional titles in the NPSL in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Met Oval Academy won the Northeast Conference to earn their spot in the national semifinal. Met Oval Academy defeated Atlantic City FC, 1-0, on Saturday. During their 12-game regular season, Met Oval went 10-1-1. Franklyn Karngbaye leads the team in goals with six on the season.
This is the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
The winner of Thursday’s game advances to The League for Clubs Finals.
