TULSA – After a two-match road trip, Tulsa Athletic returns home to play host to Sunflower State on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park in the first Saturday night home contest for the green and yellow in five years. 

 

Tulsa Athletic went 2-0-0 with two dominating wins during their recent road trip. In their match at Club Atletico Saint Louis, the green and yellow totaled five goals for a 5-1 victory. Abou Diallo finished with a brace and Joe Ruiz, Vinicius Oliveira and Juan Sanchez tallied goals. Tulsa started the road trip with a 3-0 win at OKC 1889 with Reed Berry scoring all three goals for a hat trick. The green and yellow are currently on a three-match winning streak after defeating Arkansas Wolves 4-0 in their last home match at Hicks Park. 

 

Berry currently leads Tulsa Athletic with five goals this season. Diallo adds four goals. Ruiz, Oliveira, Sanchez, Gustavo Vargas, Juan Moreno, Romulo Bosqueiro, Damani Harris, Ruben Torres and Aaron Ugbah each have one goal this season. The duo of Bryson Reed and Brady Moody in goal has allowed only 0.67 goals per match with two shutouts. 

 

For the season, Tulsa Athletic holds a 5-0-1 record with 16 points to lead the Heartland Conference. Sunflower State ranks second in the conference with 10 points and a 3-0-1 record. 

 

Sunflower State has one of the best defenses in the NPSL as they have allowed only one goal all season. The team has a 0.25 goals against average in four matches. Gabe Porras leads the team with three goals in four matches. JP Pascarella adds two goals. 

 

This will be the first-ever meeting between Tulsa Athletic and Sunflower State as the team from Kansas City, Kansas is a new addition to the NPSL this season.
