Tulsa Athletic to Host Houston Regals in Hank Steinbrecher Cup

TULSA – The Hank Steinbrecher Cup is coming to Tulsa as NPSL National Champion Tulsa Athletic hosts USSSA National Champion Houston Regals in the all-champions tournament finals on Saturday, June 29 at 7 p.m. at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park.

The game is a matchup between two longtime NPSL South Central Conference rivals. Tulsa Athletic and Houston Regals first played in Tulsa’s first season in 2013. The two clubs faced off in the South Central Conference for three seasons in 2013, 2015 and 2016 before the conference split into two conferences. Houston last played in the NPSL in 2018.  

The Hank Steinbrecher Cup is an all-champions tournament that was started in 2013. Its name honors Hank Steinbrecher, a National Soccer Hall of Fame member as well as recipient of the esteemed Werner Fricker Builder Award, former Secretary General of the USSF, coach, player and sports executive. 

The Cup is administered by the Adult Council of the United States Soccer Federation. It is contested between champions of men’s national amateur leagues. Past winners include: Flint City Bucks Chicago Fire U23, Chattanooga FC, RWB Adria and Carolina Dynamo.
