TULSA – Tulsa Athletic rolled to a 6-0 victory over FC Bartlesville Buffaloes on Saturday (Sept. 13) in the first round of 2026 U.S. Open Cup qualifying at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park.
The green and yellow scored early and added a second goal right before halftime for a 2-0 lead after 45 minutes. In the second half, Tulsa pulled away with four goals, including three in the final 10 minutes, to cruise to the 6-0 win.
Erick Diaz scored the game-winning goal in the 12th minute of action to give the home side the early 1-0 advantage.
Tulsa Athletic earned a penalty in the 45th minute. Abou Diallo stepped up and scored from the spot to make it 2-0 right before halftime.
In the second half, the green and yellow added four more goals. First in the 66th minute and again in the 80th, 85th and 90th minute. After going up 3-0, KB Harris scored on a header off a corner kick to up the score to 4-0. In the 85th minute, Joe Ruiz tallied a goal for the 5-0 score. And in the 90th minute, Tulsa Athletic added their final goal for the 6-0 score.
Bryson Reed started in goal and earned the shutout win.
Tulsa Athletic plays in the second round of qualifying on Oct. 11 or 12 with the opponent and location to be determined.
