Zamarron’s Hat Trick Leads Tulsa Athletic to 7-0 Win at Arkansas Comets

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Jacob Zamarron finished with a hat trick, and Tulsa Athletic tallied six second-half goals en route to a 7-0 victory at Arkansas Comets on Sunday (Nov. 10) at Randal Tyson Recreation Complex. 

 

With the win, Tulsa Athletic moved to 8-0-1 in UPSL play and have won seven straight league contests. This win sets up a matchup between the top two clubs in the conference on Sunday, Nov. 17 at Hicks Park. 

 

Cin Mang opened the scoring in the first half to put the visitors up 1-0 after the first 45 minutes of action. 

 

In the second half, Tulsa Athletic added six goals for the 7-0 margin. Zamarron started the second half with the first two goals to up the advantage to 3-0 early in the period. 

 

Substitute Logan Flowers came in and scored to make it 4-0 in the contest. 

 

Joe Ruiz got in on the scoring with a goal to increase the score to 5-0. 

 

Late in the contest, Zamarron tallied his third goal for the hat trick to extend the edge to 6-0. 

 

Even the coaching staff got in on the goals with John Woodhead adding the final goal for the 7-0 score. 

 

Captain Bryson Reed earned the start in goal and got the shutout win. Tulsa Athletic has had three-straight shutouts in league action. For the season they have totaled six shutouts in the eight victories. 

 

Tulsa Athletic is back on home for their next two games. The green and yellow play host to Woodland FC on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the US Open Cup Qualifying Round 3 at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park. And on Sunday, Tulsa Athletic takes on Arkansas Wolves at 2 p.m. at Hicks Park. Both games will be live streamed.
